The Andhra Pradesh Government Doctors Association has asked the state government to stop hiring professors on a contract basis for medical colleges. They say this practice hurts the quality of education and puts the future of medical students at risk. According to the association, contract-based recruitment does not attract experienced teachers who can give students the right guidance.

The doctors' group explained that permanent positions help keep teaching standards high in government medical colleges. They warned that relying on short-term contracts will make it harder to get and keep skilled faculty. They also said that this move goes against the goal of improving medical education in the state, especially with new medical colleges opening.

They asked the government to fill all teaching posts with regular recruitment instead. The association stressed that medical education needs stability and quality teachers to train future doctors. They urged the government to take quick action to ensure permanent faculty appointments for the benefit of students and the health system in Andhra Pradesh.
