Medical professionals across India are requesting the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) to delay the upcoming Institute of National Importance Combined Entrance Test (INI-CET) scheduled for May 17, 2025. They cite nationwide power outages and flight cancellations, particularly affecting regions like Srinagar, which make it difficult and unsafe for candidates to travel to exam centers. The United Doctors' Front (UDF) has formally appealed to AIIMS, emphasizing the risks and challenges posed by the current situation.

Dr. Lakshya Mittal, President of UDF, expressed disappointment over AIIMS's decision to proceed with the exam despite these concerns. He criticized the release of admit cards without addressing the candidates' safety issues, suggesting that the administration is ignoring the legitimate worries of aspiring medical students. Dr. Mittal highlighted that many candidates are facing difficulties due to travel restrictions and power failures, which could hinder their ability to attend the examination.

The INI-CET is a crucial examination for admission to postgraduate medical courses in premier institutions like AIIMS, JIPMER, and PGIMER. With the current disruptions, many candidates are anxious about reaching their exam centers on time. The medical community urges AIIMS to consider postponing the exam to ensure fairness and safety for all aspirants during these challenging times.
